Whole Chili Arbol Pepper
The chile de árbol is one of the more than one hundred varieties of chillies used in Mexican cuisine. It is called chile de árbol because the plant it comes from is taller than the average chilli plant, with an intense flavour and a dark red colour, similar to chilli peppers.
Very hot. It is used, with the seeds and veins left in, in stews made with any type of meat, and to add colour to broths and soups. This chilli is used to make all kinds of moles, marinades and various types of very hot sauces.
